Best practices and use of new and innovative pedagogical methods and technologies to support the professional development of staff in VET
In Dublin City area, The City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB) organised a peer-to-peer training pathway that involved VET and education centres specialized in different topics such as youth, high education for drop out and professional transitions.
Goals:
- Sharing best practices and promoting the use of new and innovative pedagogical methods and technologies, and supporting the professional development of teachers, trainers, mentors and other staff in VET.
- Building the capacity of VET providers to carry out high quality mobility projects, and increasing their ability to form quality partnerships while developing their internationalisation strategy
- Supporting the development of professional networks across Europe

The first session was devoted to introduce the Irish VET System and the VET Italian System to each other with the aim to create a common understanding of the countries" background.
Participants had all the meetings scheduled in the agenda for them to share best practices and observe the use of innovative pedagogical methods and technologies, discussing with Irish VET providers the processes to carry out high quality mobility projects, possibilities to form quality partnerships focusing on internationalisation strategy and participation in professional networks across Europe.
The participants got VET system insights in using innovative pedagogical methods and technologies, during discussions, they enlarged knowledge about Irish experience in management of learners’ in mobility project abroad, shared experience about cooperation with professional in VET field at European level.
The whole training was implemented using interactive methods, such as working groups, workshops, participative observation. At the end of every working day, the participants provided feedback on lessons learnt
Participants had some informal moments during break times and during the lunch at Finglas Training Centre. They spent their afternoons in visiting the most important attractions in Dublin: Christ Church Cathedral, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, Trinity College, the Guinness Storehouse, O'Connell Street and Grafton street. They had dinners in different pubs in Temple Bar.
